The Penn Regiment III Halibuster rod has a line class of 30-50lb and is a 2 piece blank.

The Penn Regiment III Halibuster 242 30-50lb is a beautifully actioned boat rod which has been designed by Penn to cope with the rigors of fishing for over sized flatfish! As well as the halibut suggested by the name the rod is also perfect for hunting conger, big rays or fishing areas where strong tides dictate the need for large leads.

The Penn Regiment III Halibuster 242 30-50lb has a lovely sensitive tip which blends progressively into the increasingly powerful mid and butt areas. It is here that the real power lurks and once bent into a fighting curve the rod has the metal needed to subdue large fish. Penn have however given the blank an element of cushioning so that you can use braid without excess risk of pulling out of a weaker hook hold. The fitment of braid guides also facilitate the use of braid as well as nylon if you prefer.
